Although Steve has the Crested Tit as a regular visitor to his garden they are French - being out in the forests of the Inverness area and seeing this enigmatic bird up close is always a pleasure.

it's arrival is always preceded by it's distinctive call, skulking through the branches of the pine trees and checking the area out.

Despite it's tendency to be pushed off the feeders by the likes of the Great Tit they are actually very approachable a 300mm or less could easily be the lens of choice to photograph them.
